SOUTH AFRICA: Final crop not sufficient for domestic demand. bullish ↑BREAKING NEWS SOUTH AFRICA

South African Crop Esitmate Committee reported a final crop estimate of 53.750 ton, little up from their last estimate at 52.000 ton. But most active players in the South African peanut industry seem to disagree with these numbers, and expect final crop to be closer to 40.000 tons. That is a huge loss compared to the initial crop expectations for this year at 85.000 tons. South Africa will have to start looking for suitable imports to fulfil the needs of the industry.
