Updated figures report that total planted hectares for the 2019 crop are max 350.000 ha, compared to 450.000 ha last year. But with current favorable growing conditions – abundant precipitations – , we may for the moment hope on a yield as from 3.500 kg/ha, or even more. Taking a closer look at the current state of the pods, we can see that maturity is delayed for about 20 days in general. Plants could still catch up if conditions remain optimum (moisture and temperature) in the final stage of the crop.
