Still about 25 percent of the USA crop is not planted yet. But with cotton prices at USD 94 cents now, farmers have a great incentive not switch to cotton. For some farmers it could even make sense to re-plant cotton in fields that are already planted with peanuts. If indeed current planted acres are to be considered almost 100 percent, we need excellent growing conditions to avoid a supply issue in 2019.
